lets start
This winter i called my friend guenter geiger and we were chatting about getting the RJ project as a consumer format for interactive music to the Iphone.
Since we are the kind of guys who are not just talking about things, we got iphones, we set up a small team, we did a lot of thinking, we did a lot of hacking and we did a lot of organizing. Now its summer and we are about to release the whole show.
Really, we should have started blogging much earlier, but you know how things are when you are busy. So lets sum up the last couple of month in one post and lets try to keep the posting up and running.
In January, Guenter finally managed to spend some time besides his job at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. Guenter is one of the brains behind reactable, which is a really cool project.
Guenter got an audio framework running on the IPhone pretty soon but he was fighting hard with such stupid problems like audio duplex mode, volume control, sampling rate and so on. Since he was the one man development department of RJ he’s done an incredible good job.
A couple of months later we managed to get amaury hazan and paul brossier on board. Both of them were working on RJ besides their job at Pompeu Fabra (Amaury) and gstreamer (Paul). From today on 1st of July 2008, Paul is working fulltime at RJ, which really is big news.
In the last couple of month’s we also managed to get some of Europa’s top entrepreneurs, thinkers and doers behind RJ.
We have: my old friend and preserver of last.fm, Stefan Glaenzer; Former Firefly Network vice president, opencoffee maker, long time web and technology experts Robin and Saul Klein; Christian Lutz my neighbor here in the alps and ucp morgen, qpass maker; Last but not least, Peter Read Music Nation co-founder is providing fresh insights from the entertainment industry. All of them are supporting us with insights that no money can buy. We appreciate this very much.
Besides working on all ends at the same time, our next step is to open the doors for artists, musicians and composers. In order to achieve this, we are organizing an RJ sprint on the weekend of the 12th of july. If you are interested, read more about it here.
Thanks for your attention, if you want us to keep you in the loop don’t forget to subscribe to our feed.
greetings,
michael, guenter, paul and amaury
