While the vienna music scene was recovering from the party last night, we had some action movie scene in the hotel: peter’s laptop was stolen but markus and jenny were catching the thief… and got him. with a happy end!!!
and hey: Wolfgang of the www.miooow.com booking agency just arrived to check things out.
Anyway, the core-team here in the hotel, is busy as usual – continueing on their scenes.
After a nice breakfast we took over the Blazing White Room and straight away 10 or more people were geeking and coding and totally into working on new scenes. We were not sure who, how many and when any of the Vienna people would show up, but in late afternoon it got quite busy for a while :-) Christian and Matthias from VICE magazine dropped by to get an impression of what the hell RJDJ is, as well as a guy from “Resident” – a music mag and his friend from tunesbag.com. Christian got infectes I guess – he will come back today with his laptop! Some of Flo’s friends from the “Angewandte” University came by and finally we did some very special recordings with Philipp from the vocal groove project BAUCHKLANG.
After Gulaschs and Spätzles and Nockerls and Schnitzels in the legendary Cafe Drechsler some went home to sleep, some did not :-)
About three weeks ago we started the RjDj private beta and i have to say it has been exciting three weeks for Paul, Amaury, Guenter and me here in the RjDj land. Besides loads of requests for the private beta we also got amazing feedback from the blogosphere all over the world. We just sent out an email to everyone who requested a private beta saying:
You guys really made not only our day but also our week, month and maybe even year :-) We are all super motivated now and we are quite confident that RjDj has enough reason to get into the Iphone app store.
So thanks again to all of you who wrote about RjDj, commented through our website, requested a beta account, left a comment on our video etc. etc. we were simply blown away.
Today we have some more news for you. We submitted RjDj to the Iphone app store last monday the 8th of september. If everything goes well, you should be able to donwload RjDj for FREE pretty soon.
Paul did a great job on the interface and we decided to have about 12 scenes(changed 18.9, see more info in the comments) 5 scenes initially bundled with RjDj. If you know someone from the Apple UK review team, please do us a favor, call this person now and make sure RjDj is reviewed soon ;-)
Also i took RjDj to Burningman Festival and i think RjDj was able to contribute to the general madness of the world in the desert. I filmed a couple when they were listening to RjDj and their reaction is pretty much summing up the feedback we got in general. Thanks to everyone.
Thank you all of you who have asked for a beta version of RjDj! After a rather quiet week, we have had a huge number of requests in the last 48 hours.
We won’t be able to get everyone in the private beta, but don’t worry, if you applied for the beta, we will keep you inform as soon as RjDj is available in the App Store. If you want to make sure you are the first to know when the first public RjDj will be released, please send us a line.
Several questions came up during the past week, here are some answers. We have replied a few of these questions in the FAQ. If you have more questions, let us know, and if you want to know more about us, make sure you check the about and contact pages.
Again, thank you all for this amazing feedback. Let’s keep making noise about and with RjDj, show it to your friends, send us videos and ideas!
The next RjDj sprint is coming up. This time it is happening in Vienna. Musicians, composers, coders, PD people and everyone who is interested in RjDj is invited to come along. We are still looking for the best location but will keep you posted here.
This time we have some interesting people from the vienna music scene which we mix and mingle with some old geeks from the past sprints.
RjDj hosts events called "Sprints" where we gather bright musicians and developers to create RjDj scenes. Want to host a sprint in your city? Contact us at info@rjdj.me!
