New scenes and updated iApp
We just uploaded 3 new, free scenes from Stefan Smulovitz, Frank Barknecht and Chris McCormick
Stefan Smulovitz’s scene is called Time and is a wonderful piece he created together with Viviane Houle. Viviane is a vocalist, improviser and songwriter known for creating a huge array of sounds. The scene is using the touchpad to trigger the vocals. Try it and you will be soon lost in the voice and stories of Viviane.
It seems to me as if Frank was testing the new abilities to include buttons in a scene. He just stretched the idea a bit by putting 256 buttons on it and made them all musical reactive. The result will make you smile!
Chris is the creator of the smashing hits CanOfBeats and GhostWave. This time he stepped back of doing yet another musical craziness. He just simply created a moonboot synthpad. If you are into sawtooth or square waves, rock n roll!
On another front we have also made progress. The RjDj app is featuring a built in webbrowser which is accessible via the RjDj.me tab on the bottom right side. We started to call this part of our app the iApp and it is handling all the scene downloading, recording uploading, your account etc. Last night we updated the iApp and included some useful features
1. The new RjDj universe section.
The RjDj universe gives you a quick overview of what is happening in the RjDj land. You will find the newest scenes, latest recordings or coolest recordings in here and we will keep on improving the material you will find in the RjDj universe.
2. You are now able to also play back the uploaded recordings which means you can listen to recordings of other people or other recordings made with a certain scene
3. Every scene page is now also featuring recordings of that scene and you can share the scene and not only the recordings with your friends. So if you are into a scene, just use the share feature to send your frinds a link to the scene.
4. We also cleaned up the user profiles a bit and you can now browse your lovely friends recordings and of course, listen to them.
Let us know what you think about this all, have fun and take care when listening to RjDj in front of other people, in the city or shaking your phone too much.

Hi guys,
the scene download pages in the RJDJ universe don’t seem to be active links. it says “the URL wasn’t loaded: rjdj://rjdj.me/music/…”
I think maybe that first “rjdj” in your code should be “http”. It doesn’t seem like there’s any way to download these besides the in-app browser, so I don’t know how everyone else is downloading them.
Thanks!

@bierbaum
where did you run across the rjdj:// links on what browser? Scene download is only supposed to happen in the in app browser or in iPhone safari if the rjdj:// extension is used… on the website you can only add the scenes to your account which makes them downloadable on your iphone when you access “your shared space”

I was one of the first people to purchase RjDj when it came out. I haven’t played with it for awhile, and loaded it up today. I registered a username and had some of the free scenes put into my user space. It says I can then download those scenes from the app on the phone. I am unable to do this. When I log into the app on the phone and go to my shared space, I just see the paragraph about shared recordings, there is not a place to download anything. If I find the scene I want and click the “free” button, I get the same error as @bierbaum above saying the URL wasn’t loaded. How do I download the new scenes?

I have tried to download two paid scenes but I must be doing something wrong. First I tried to purchase one on my desktop & I didn’t even get a receipt email. Next I tried purchasing one on my iphone. I got the receipt email that time but I still don’t see where I get the scene I paid for! Either this is not an intuitive interface or I’m just really tired.

Hi Brian
you should see the downloaded scenes on you shared space which you can access via the RjDj.me tab on you device… I can confirm we received your payment, so if the scene is not there drop me a mail… concerning the interface, i hope with inapp purchases things get easier ;-)
