Kids on DSP on MTV sticky

KidsonDSPonMTVSticky

Kids on DSP were featured yesterday describing the RjDj format as “a reactive music format that stands out above the rest”. The article appeared after our recent talk at Interesting 09, which featured the 350 strong audience all controlling the Doppelganger scene at once ! It was a truly awesome sound.

The forthcoming Kids on DSP app was also featured recently in the UK newspaper The Guardian. Here Chris Salmon described Kids on DSP as a band set to “genuinely push the boundaries of music… Music doesn’t get much more futuristic, or more fun, than this.”

We are very excited about this release !

RjDj at Music Hack Day Berlin

Friday, September 11th, 2009

RjDj will be at Music Hack Day in Berlin on September 19-20. We will do a general talk on RjDj and reactive music, and do a small scene composing sprint. If you want to learn how to make music that plays in RjDj, come along to this great event. We’re very happy to join companies like Soundcloud, Ableton, Echonest and many more to make Music Hackday Berlin a great thing.

Music Hack Day is a free event where people hack on music related APIs and tools, and we had a great time at the last one in London. If you’re in or around Berlin, join us for some scene making and reactive music talk!

Check out the event here: Music Hack Day Berlin and note that you need to register to attend even if it’s free!

See you in Berlin! And check out what the last Music Hack Day was like.

Reactive music and augmented audio sprint in the RjDj London offices, October 2-4

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Join us for a weekend of exploration of reactive music and augmented audio at the London RjDj sprint. A sprint is a weekend of workshops, lectures and help on the tools for creating reactive music and focused time to work on your own creations. We bring the RjDj team of reactive music composers and developers, refreshments and full access to the roof top RjDj offices in Clerkenwell Road. You bring your ideas for reactive music and augmented audio and any scenes or ideas for scenes you’re working on.

The sprint starts with a release party for the new Kids on DSP reactive minimal techno release!

Saturday and Sunday will be spent in the RjDj offices, and some topics from us include:

  • Approaches to creating reactive music
  • RjDj Composer tools discussion – what would you want from a reactive music creation software?
  • Using Pure Data to create RjDj scenes

Sign up below, and if you have any thoughts or questions feel free to contant Andie Nordgren at andie@rjdj.me.

Feel free to drop by for parts of the sprint, we will be in the offices all weekend talking about and making reactive music.
