Amaury Hazan

I am a 28 years old computer science engineer, musician, and researcher in audio processing and machine learning. Ten years ago, my main motivation to learn programming was to be able to make sound apps and toys. I then learned to develop audio plug-ins and got fascinated by the possibilities of real time interaction.

I started mixing machine learning and audio interaction and developed the billaboop software to do so. Michael contacted me, and I understood that a mobile platform such as the iPhone would mean a new dimension in audio interaction and could lead to establish a new music format. And many questions arose: how to make music with rjdj? how to work with musicians who do not know pd? What are the frontiers of interactive songs? Can I compose a hip hop, a folk song or an opera? It’s all about exploring and defining the frontiers of what I hope will be a new media, a new format.

Strike

Strike is my first “serious” rjdj scene, it is released with the RjDj Shake. I wanted to give a hip hop/ trip hop feeling thats refers to world of Archive or Porthishead. I also wanted to get the listener involved … if you stay calm the music slowly evolves, but if you shake hard you get a wall of sound.
