About
Sprints are RjDj events where we invite artists, musicians, composers, and developers to join us to create RjDj scenes and do other mad things with sound. Some RjDj people will be there to help you implement your ideas. Most of the time is spent hacking on scenes in Pd. Pure Data (Pd) is the software we use to compose RjDj Scenes. We also bring along a couple of iPod Touches for those of you who don’t call an iPhone/iPod their own. Experience in Pd/Max MSP/Supercollider, or a similar DSP framework, is an advantage, but no prerequisite to attend a Sprint. If your are just interested in getting some more information about RjDj, it’s probably best if you join us at the beginning or the presentation of scenes at the end of the Sprint.

RjDj Sprints are structured in the following manner:
- Overall presentation of RjDj and the concepts of reactive music
- Short introduction into Pure data
- How to create RjDj scenes and get them on iPhones/iPods
- Collecting and discussing ideas for scenes
- Working on individual scenes (most of the time)
- Presentation of scenes
- Closing party
Usually we are also staging a “eurovision scene contest” (non europeans allowed ;-) where the best scene which is done in the days of the sprint wins a price and the winner gets instantly famous. We are organizing Sprints in different locations, if you want to have one close to you, let us know. Upcoming Sprints and details how to participate in them are anncounced here.
